11 © UPU 2009 – All rights reserved KRP Management principles setting up regional objectives together with performance indicators a detailed plan of activities and workshops to analyze progress and determine follow-up action engagement of a dedicated project manager must extend throughout the cycle 2009–2012 and leads to a structural change KRP should meet the following criteria:

13 © UPU 2009 – All rights reserved Important stages of a KRP (2) Activities carried out according to the timetable agreed Project launch workshop brings together all project stakeholders (UPU, partners and beneficiary countries) in order to: –officially approve the project document –obtain the commitment of the project’s stakeholders –designate the national project manager Project implementation

14 © UPU 2009 – All rights reserved Important stages of a KRP (3) Participation of the decision-makers from the countries involved Channel and direct the efforts of the various players Assess the degree of to which each beneficiary country has achieved the objectives Provide analytical elements and take measures to correct any unfavourable tendencies Monitoring and reporting /Annual analysis

15 © UPU 2009 – All rights reserved Important stages of a KRP (4) National managers report to the regional project manager/RPC RPC consolidates the results at regional level DCDEV submits a report to the International Bureau and the Restricted Union International Bureau reports to CA and POC Process provides follow-up and coaching Reporting

16 © UPU 2009 – All rights reserved Management of the KRP KRP is confined to a qualified project manager RU/IB Steering Committee (perhaps comprising other partners) may be set up to: –oversee the project and organize meetings between the Restricted Unions and the UPU –examine the project’s progress –taking early corrective measures in preparation for the analysis/action meetings
