Produce a fact sheet detailing chosen medical condition including treatment, impact on individual and preventative measures.

8. Each group select a body system; In your groups list the potential health issues associated with that body system – You may use ICT to support your research. List these on the whiteboard.

9. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) A general term that describes a disease of the heart or blood vessels. There are four main types of CVD. They are: 1. Coronary heart disease 2. Stroke 3. Peripheral arterial disease 4. Aortic disease

10. Respiratory disease Two categories: 1. Viruses such as influenza, bacterial pneumonia 2. Chronic diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ).

11. Skin The largest body system Skin becomes thinner and weaker during the aging process. This reduces the amount of protection it is able to provide. Conditions include; Skin cancer, wrinkles, bruising, warts, dermatitis, Psoriasis, pressure sores.

12. Nervous system; There are two parts of the nervous system – 1. Central 2. peripheral Problems of the nervous system include; multiple sclerosis ( MS ), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, shingles and stroke.
