Herschel discovered Uranus in 1781. in 1783 the first elliptical orbit predicted for Uranus. In 1784 they predicted the position of the planet wrong Then in 1977 they found the Uranus rings. I remember when I found Uranus

it takes 17 hours and 24 minutes to rotate around its axis. It takes Uranus 84 years to get around the sun. Its 2,870,990,000 km from the sun. Uranus is the only planet that rotates side ways!

Uranus is 2.57 billion km away from earth.

Uranus is a very cold planet, During the day it is 350*c in the day and -170*c during the night

It is mostly composed of various ices, like water, ammonia and methane. I love the ice!

Uranus is made out of 82.5% hydrogen molecules, 15.2 helium, and 2.3 methane. If you were to step on Uranus you would die because it is so cold.

Uranus has 26 moons. Uranus moon are also in the ring around the planet. These are 5 names of Uranus moons.

Uranus is made of rocks and various types or ice The color of the planet is due to the light hitting the Methane gas so it makes it look blue. The cool thing about this planet is that it is the only planet that is tilted at a 90* angel. I tilt sideways!! I’m a weird planet!

If you lived on Uranus you would be 12 pounds heavier. You would weigh more because Uranus is bigger then Earth. You would have to learn how to breath Methane and that would be impossible. But you would die anyways because it is so cold.

It would take a long time to get there. About 9 ½ years to get there. If you went there then you would see huge valleys and Canyons bigger then the Grand Canyon. From far away Uranus looks like a calm blue planet but if you get closer to it you can see storms.
