Ten Experiences Of Life with a Capital L FreedomWorship HeartLove BeautyTime IlluminationBrokenness StoryHeaven

Luke 4:18-19 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

2 Corinthians 3:17–18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins… (i.e. now that you’re alive, go Live!)

On Flip Chart: There is an enormous difference between Earning God’s FAVOR (status) And PLEASING God(behavior / experience)

On flip chart: BEING ALIVE –status LIVING –experience. (I.e. just because we’re alive, doesn’t automatically mean we’ll Live with a capital L) BEING FREE – status LIVING FREE – experience

Four ingredients of Freedom: 1.Life-giving Acceptance

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Ephesians 2:4-7 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. 2 …I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Four ingredients of Freedom: 1.Life-giving Acceptance 2.Life-giving Righteousness

Romans 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Two Types of Righteousness: 1.“Positional” Righteousness: - my STATUS

Romans 5:17-19 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ…

18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Two Types of Righteousness: 1.“Positional” Righteousness: - my STATUS 2.“Practical” Righteousness: - my BEHAVIOR

Romans 6:13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer:...that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Four ingredients of Freedom: 1.Life-giving Acceptance 2.Life-giving Righteousness 3.Life-giving Obedience

Romans 6:16-18 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Two types of “Obedience” 1.Legalistic Obedience 2.Life-giving Obedience

Proverbs 13:14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

Matthew 19:17 “… If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”

Proverbs 6:23 For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life. Proverbs 4:4 He taught me and said, “Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Four ingredients of Freedom: 1.Life-giving Acceptance 2.Life-giving Righteousness 3.Life-giving Obedience 4.Life-giving Passion

Hebrews 11:6 …anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Psalm 63:1 O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
