4 Roots Denotation: Letters used to form words. Groot says that roots can unlock the meaning of the whole word. He also says, “I am Groot.”

5 Origin of words Many of the words we use today originate from Greek and Latin roots.

6 Affixes Denotation: Letter or letters added to a base word or a root to create a new word. Two types of affixes: prefix and suffix prefix: affix that comes before the base word suffix: affix that comes after the base word
