7. THE WORD COMES ALIVE: 1. Faith activates the word.

10. LUKE 1:34-38 34 Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” 35 The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. 36 What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. 37 For the word of God will never fail.” 38 Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

13. THREE THINGS: 1. I must accept it’s authority.

14. I THESSALONIANS 2:13 13 Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

15. THREE THINGS: 2. I must assimilate it’s truths.  By listening to God’s Word.

16. ROMANS 10:17 17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

17. LUKE 8:18 18 “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

18. THREE THINGS: 2. I must assimilate it’s truths.  By reading God’s Word.  By exploring God’s Word.

19. PSALMS 119:11 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
