2 Critique A critique is an in-depth evaluation of something or someone. An example of a critique would be a newspaper article that evaluates a painting.

3 Opinion An opinion is what someone or a group thinks about something. An example of an opinion that I think the Dodgers are the best team on earth.

4 generalization Generalization is the act or process of generalizing; to give a general form to. Ex. All parents try to make life difficult for their children.

5 organizational pattern Organizational Patterns are structures of persuasive arguments. Ex. Spatial, Order of Importance, and Chronological.

6 Substantiated Definition: to provide evidence to support or prove the truth. Example: Millions of years ago there were dinosaurs. This is a substantiated statement because there is evidence of fossils to support this.

7 Unsubstantiated Definition: Not supported or proven by evidence Example: Vehicles were roaming around during the dinosaur times. The statement above is a unsubstantiated example because there isn't any proof of motorized vehicles existing in the prehistoric times.

8 The common Factor All of terms can be used in an inductive, persuasive, argument in which reasoning is used as strong evidence from one point to another.
