1 Trebuchet Project By: L and B

2 Intro We are going to show you the angle at which a trebuchet throws a marble the farthest. We were interested in this because we want to be able to fling objects great distances.

3 We observed that the angle at which a trebuchet throws a wooden ball and a marble the farthest is unknown to us. We observed that if we do a few tests, we can find this angle with ease. We asked what angle it was, and what was the max. distance the trebuchet can fling the marble. Observation and Question

4 Hypothesis Our hypothesis is that the marble and wooden ball will go the farthest when released at a 90°. The marble and the wooden ball will go the least distance when released at a 100°.

12 Conclusion Our hypothesis is supported by the data. In both cases, the material was thrown the farthest at a 90° angle. The wooden ball went maximum distance of 52’ 3” and a minimum 37’7”. The marble went a maximum of 163’6” and a minimum of 45’. Both reached their maximum distance when released at a 90° angle. Both reached their minimum distance when released at a 100-105° angle.
