2 Objectives Introducing Behavioral Dentistry Telling Examination pattern and timings Noticing Assessment and Evaluation system Mentioning rules and regulations for the students to be followed. Textbooks to be referred.

3 Introduction Behavioral Dentistry (122 PDS)

4 Social environment is as important as the physical and biological environment in relation to health and disease in man. The effect of social environment on health is clearly reflected in the differences in disease patterns of rural versus urban and developing versus developed countries.

5 The term social environment denotes the complex of psychological factors influencing the health of the individual and the community. This environment is unique to man and includes cultural values, customs, habits, beliefs, attitudes, morals, religion. Also includes education, income, occupation, standard of living, community life and the social and political organization.

6 The five Social Sciences include : 1)Sociology 2)Cultural Anthropology 3)Social Psychology 4)Economics 5)Political Sciences.

7 The first three together are called Behavioral Sciences. And hence if applied in Dentistry is called Behavioral Dentistry.

11 Rules and Regulations Students will not be allowed to use mobile phones in the class rooms or practical/clinical halls. Students will not be permitted to bring any type of food or beverages inside the class rooms or practical/clinical halls. If any of the student found creating nuisance, disturbing others or misbehaving with the Faculty member, will sent outside the classroom/clinic and the matter will be reported to the Dean. Students will not be permitted to enter the classroom/practical hall/clinic if they are late by more than 10 minutes.

12 After the exam/result student cannot come and directly ask to view his answer paper, for that he has to take permission through proper channel that is from the Dean.
