1 The clarinet is a wood wind instrument that is in the key of b flat [that is in the orchestra]and the lowest note is the d below middle c the highest is the c three octaves above middle c. It is made of wood and uses a single reed In the mouth piece to make a sound which can be altered.

2 The pieces of a clarinet The mouth piece creates the tone of the clarinet when someone is blowing at it. The barrel is used to fine tune the instrument and to adapt it to the player and the orchestra’s pitch. The upper joint has the keys for the left hand and the lower joint has the keys for the right hand these two could have been made as one part bot this way it is easier to transport. The bell is responsible for the sound of the lowest note. The corks are to connect the different parts.

3 What the clarinet is made from The body of the clarinet is made from wood but the keys are made from German silver and the mouth piece is made from hard rubber[ebonite].

4 When it was made an invented It was invented in 1690 by a bloke called Johanne Christoph Denner. Although, it was not the same as it is now because there were only two keys that were mostly made of brass.
