13.  He studied the conditioned reflexes in dogs. One of his experiments was to repeatedly ring the bell and feed the dog. Then he rang the bell and watched the beginning of salivation. In this way he provided an impact of conditioned reflexes. Pavlov also studied repression of this impact of ringing the bell but giving no food. As a result the dogs considered the bell to be the wrong stimulus and repressed the response.  In 1904 he received a Nobel Prize for physiological and medical research and the centrifugal nerves of the heart.  Pavlov was the first Russian to receive the Nobel Peace Prize
