1 RESEARCH PROJECT THE FOLLOWING PARTS OF YOUR PROJECT ARE SCORED :  Completing at least 15 notecards: 30 PTS  Submitting an approved thesis statement: 10 PTS  Submitting a 1 st draft of your formal outline: 15 PTS  Submitting all the research documents listed on your works cited page. 30 PTS. THE FOLLOWING ASSIGNMENTS OF YOUR PROJECT ARE GRADED:  Formal Outline – must match your speech  5-6 slide powerpoint  3-5 minute informative research speech (content, word choice, grammar, tone, etc).  3-5 minute oral presentation (body language, volume, length, etc.)  Works Cited page A GRADED assignment is assessed for how well you appear to understand the concepts and mastered the skills we studied. These assignments should be final drafts, because they are a test and are more heavily weighted in the overall grade. Some of the steps in this year’s research project are SCORED, and others GRADED. A SCORED assignment receives points for being completed, but not perfected. These scores are less heavily weighted in the overall grade. Please submit the following assignments to the hand-in folder on Wednesday :  Works Cited page: final draft  Power point slides: final draft  Every research document listed on your Works Cited page. We only have the laptops in class through Wednesday, March 2 nd ! 2 RESEARCH POWERPOINT: Your power point should support your speech. It must consist of the following 5-6 slides Submit by Wednesday, March 2 to the hand in folder. Slide #1: 1.Thesis statement in an easy to read font (20-32 pt. font) 2.A supportive photo (preferably the one used by Ms. Saunders). Slide #2 1.Your first topic claim sentence in an easy to read font (20-32 pt. ). 2.Supportive photo or photos (you may use the same photo as slide 1 or other supportive photos). Slide #3 1.Your second topic claim sentence in an easy to read font (20-32 pt. ). 2.Supportive photo or photos (you may use the same photo as slide 1 or other supportive photos). Slide #4 1.Your third topic claim sentence in an easy to read font (20-32 pt. ). 2.Supportive photo or photos (you may use the same photo as slide 1 or other supportive photos). Slide #5 1.Your MLA heading in the upper left hand corner 2.Your Works Cited page. cut and paste your works cited page from your word document. Paste it as text or as an image, but it should fill ¾ of the slide. OPTIONAL SLIDE This slide would come between slide #4 & #5 and would act as a support for your conclusion. 1.Your thesis statement 2.
