Draw-On-Your-Head Game ! (see next slide for instructions) 3) Game #1 (10- 15min)

1) Provide the students with White Boards and Markers. (If not available, laminated sheets of paper and markers will work, or another hard service for drawing on) 2) Students must place their white boards ON TOP of their heads. Teacher calls out a word, i.e. “Diamond!” Students must draw a diamond while holding the white board on the top of their heads. (see previous slide picture for demo) 3) Have students draw each shape several times. Each round, award points to the students or teams with the best looking, most accurate drawings. (It’s hard to draw things properly while holding the white board on your head!) TIP: This game works well with each solo student drawing, or in teams of 3 or 4, where individual students from each team take turns coming to the front of the class every round. Make sure students also repeat the words! Draw-On-Your-Head Game ! (instructions) 3) Game #1 (10- 15min)

Shapes Song Worksheet! Write the words (use Black & White worksheet for coloring) 4) Worksheet (10- 15min)

Hammer Game ! (see next slide for instructions) 5) Game #2 (10- 15min) Materials: -Plastic toy Hammer or Fly swatter, (or simply students hand will work) -Flashcards by English Tree TV -Timer (optional)

1) Download and Print ‘Shapes Song Flashcards’ http://www.englishtreetv.com/shapes-song-resources.html http://www.englishtreetv.com/shapes-song-resources.html 2) Tape the Flashcards to the back of the classroom in organized rows of 2 or 3, so that they are easily reach for the students (adjust for height difference). 3) This is a relay style speed game. Make a few teams, preferably with an even number of students on each team. Team 1 lines up at the front of the class. Hand the first student in line the hammer. Teacher says a word, i.e. “Square!”, and start a countdown timer (egg timer, stop watch, or internet based timer). The first student with the hammer runs to the back of the class, identifies the square picture, hits it with the hammer, repeats the word (“Square!”), then runs back to the front. That student passes the hammer to the next student, and you repeat this until all students have participated. Stop the timer when all students on the team have finished. Play a few rounds, and the lowest total score (shortest time) wins. Also works fine without a timer as a non-competitive version. TIP: Make sure the students do not slam the hammer too hard, lest they loose points! Hammer Game! (instructions) 5) Game #2 (10- 15min)
