2 What is our sun? Our Sun is a star.

4 What is our sun made of? The Sun is made of extremely hot gases with electrically charged particles called plasma.

5 Where does our Sun get its energy? The Sun’s energy comes from reactions in the core.

6 What are some features of the Sun? Prominences and solar flares Prominences are huge loops of gases. They extend thousands of kilometers out from the Sun. Intense releases of energy from the Sun’s surface are called solar flares.

10 What is the Moon? The Moon is like a giant rock in space. The Moon revolves around Earth and rotates on its own axis.

11 What are the phases of the Moon? The phases of the Moon are the different shapes that the Moon seems to have. The shapes change because the size of the lighted part that we can see from Earth changes. The phases you see depend on the positions of the Moon, Earth, and the Sun. Waxing: “Gradually growing larger”

13 How long does it take the Moon to phase? A complete cycle of Moon phases occurs about every 29.5 days.
