By: Danielle Kelly

My Real World Problem  Danielle went to Aeropostale and got 7 cami’s for 17.50 each how much did she spend.

The Equation  My equation is: Y= 17.50x or f(x)= 17.50x X= the number of cami’s Y= the total cost 17.50*7 =? Cami

Independent and Dependent  My independent variable is the x which is the number of cami’s  My dependent variable is y which is the total cost  Y depends on x  The total cost depends on the number of cami’s.

Table of Values x17.50xy(x,y) 117.50(1)17.50(1,17.50) 217.50(2)35.00(2,35.00) 317.50(3)52.50(3,52.50) 417.50(4)70.00(4,70.00) 517.50(5)87.50(5,87.50) 617.50(6)105.00(6,105.00) 717.50(7)122.50(7,122.50)

Domain and Range  Domain is the x values  Range is the y values  My domain is (1,2,3,4,5,6,7)  My Range is (17.50,35,52.50,70,87.50,105,122.50) R A DOMAIN G E

Is it Continues or Discrete  It is Discrete graph because my data only contains points.  You can’t buy 1½ you can only purchase shirts by 1,2,3 and so on. So we wont use numbers between 1and 2.

Is it a Function  Yes because my x values don’t repeat. X 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Cami’s Ticket Graph

Soooo….  Depending on the amount of shirts Danielle wanted to buy, it could cost for just one shirt for 17.50 or getting 7 shirts it could cost 122.50 not including tax. I wonder how much that would be well that problem is to figure out next time.
