7 Self-learning Online articles will be provided on Moodle for additional information on the lecture.

8 Project for the Trimester  One major project for the trimester  Designs due at midterms  Completed website before finals

9 Mentoring Your teacher will comment on your work each week.

10 What you can and cannot do in this class.

11 House Rules  You are responsible for any quizzes, seatwork, homework you miss.  Lectures will not be repeated. If you are late or absent, please refer to the materials provided in Moodle.  Absolutely no surfing, chatting, emailing, blogging, tweeting, watching videos on YouTube, etc. during quizzes and lectures / discussions

12 No Late Submissions! Seatwork Homework  Due at the end of class  Upload the offline version (zipped format) to Moodle  Always due at midnight before the next meeting, Moodle activity will be locked  Upload the website (online version) to your hosting server  Type the URL of the project (as instructed) on Moodle.  Graphic homework is to be uploaded in Moodle, as instructed.  Late homework = no grade  No homework = no grade

14 Moodle Activity: Fill in your profile  Change the default email to one that you check all the time  Put a headshot so that your teacher can recognize you.  Add additional information, if you want.

17 Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project  URL (uniform resource locator) – the name of your website  Please follow the format yourname.com (or.net,.org,.info,.name, etc.)  Keep it professional, not cutesy  Can be up to 67 characters long but please keep it short  Alphanumeric, dashes are allowed  Make it easy to remember  Domain purchase is usually good for at least one (1) year

18 Course Requirements Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project  Computer where your web files are stored  Usually located in a remote location

20 Course Requirements Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project  Three (3) design studies of your final project  Completed quizzes, seatworks, and homeworks

21 Course Requirements Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project Themes to choose from:  Churches in Metro Manila (at least 7)  What to do in Metro Manila (at least 7)  Tourist spots in Metro Manila (at least 7)  What makes a Filipino? (at least 7) Requirements:  All content (copy, artwork, and photos) appearing on the website should be original  You write the copy yourself  You create the artwork yourself  You take the photos yourself

22 Course Requirements Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project  The project will not be graded or accepted if any of the content was not created by you  There are digital cameras reserved for students of webdev1, You may make use of them  A template is required for the final project Documentation: 1. Strategic planning 2. Visual design planning 3. Design presentation 4. Materials

23 Course Requirements Domain Web Hosting Midterm Submissions Final Project All 4 parts need to be completed by week 10. If not submitted by this time, you will not be allowed to do the final project. Grading activities:  Consultation (2 meetings) 1. Week 11: Present the template/s of your website 2. Week 12: Website should be at least 50% complete  Final project presentation (Week 13)  Revisions (Week 14)
