2 W ARM -U P J OURNAL ! Respond thoughtfully to the questions below in at least 10-15 sentences. (10 minutes) What does the term “American Dream” mean to you? What informs your definition of the “American Dream”? Do you think the “American Dream” means the same thing to everyone? Why or why not?

3 A UTOBIOGRAPHIES ! You will present your autobiographies in small groups. While you are sharing, I will come around and check your supplies: □ 1 ½” 3-ring binder □ Four dividers : literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary □ 200 sheets of college-ruled loose-leaf paper □ Assignment book □ One 10-pack of mechanical no. 2 pencils and one pack of dark pens □ A light-colored highlighter □ A pack of square Post-It notes □ A pack of 3” X 5” white index cards
