2 Wetlands… Wetlands are an area of land that is periodically underwater or whose sort contains a great deal of moisture. They are important because they help reduce flooding, they soak up water, and help replenish underground water supplies.

3 Freshwater marshes… Treeless Found in shallow areas along the shores of lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Plants may vary depending on the depth of the water and location of the marsh. Grasses, reeds, bulrushes, and wild rice grow here. Muskrats, turtles, frogs, and birds also live in marshes.

4 Water quality The clarity of the water. It is important because we would be able to know how clean the water is.

5 Cloud Cover Clouds block UV radiation

6 Organisms have different temperature preferences.

7 Does not allow light through, so plants can’t make food.

8 DISSOLVED OXYGEN! Waterfalls, winds, rapids, and waves are all examples of dissolved oxygen.
