8 School Procedures We are a Baldridge school. I am responsible for my learning and I am respons-ABLE for the learning of others. OLWEUS – Bullying Prevention Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.

9 Allergies and Birthday Treats Due to many student allergies we ask that you consider the following “treats”: Store bought healthy snacks Alternative “treat” – class craft, extra recess, etc. Please check with our school nurse for specific allergy information.

10 Homework Spelling practice on Monday – Thursday Read at least 10 minutes every night No homework assignments on Friday Occasionally math or language arts assignment at the teachers discretion

11 Baggy Books Students will be bringing home “baggy books” starting in October – students are expected to read these books over the weekend in order to continue improvement in overall reading skills Read Across USA

12 Field Trips Our goal is 2 field trips per year Cost $2.00 per student Parents will be contacted for chaperone opportunities

13 Bring Your Own Device When appropriate for learning objectives students may be permitted to bring an electronic device to school Students are responsible for the care and use of the device Possession of communication devices by students or staff on PWCS grounds is a privilege, not a right, and any staff member or student who brings a communication device on PWCS property consents to these rules and to the School Division's right to confiscate and/or search such devices; All devices must be set to silent or vibrate mode, with audible signals disabled during all in-school use; Speaker settings must be turned off. Audio content must be delivered by means of earphones or handsets to prevent any disruption of school activities; For each specific testing situation, Principals and/or classroom teachers will establish and state specific rules governing the use of devices Students will access only files and Internet sites that are relevant to the curriculum. http://itech.departments.pwcs.edu/modules/cms/pages.phtml?pageid=263903
