10 Engagement More than 450 NHS Wales staff actively engaged in Champions for Health. Based on individuals who have recorded six or more weeks progress online. A third of those who completed the full registration.

11 Evaluation 15-20 minute questionnaire asking about participant’s experiences of the campaign. Analysis plan – five stages: –Baseline data analysis. –Interaction during the campaign period. –End of campaign analysis (including comparison of assessment variables pre and post intervention). –Evaluation – partially registered subscribers. –Evaluation questionnaire analysis

13 Lessons learned 1.There is huge goodwill among NHS Wales staff to live healthy lifestyles and encourage others to do the same. 2.Improving personal health isn’t easy – even for healthcare professionals 3.Data can help – many people have found recording their progress beneficial 4.The importance of running the race with others is crucial 5.New technology and social media are useful 6.The Model for Improvement is transferable to personal health improvement 7.The focus on improving staff health is developing internationally 8.A national campaign creates energy around an issue and gets people involved
