By: Sarah Hidinger Period 5 Biology Today you are going to be learning about Chromosomes!
2
For most of the life of the cell, chromosomes are too elongated and tenuous to be seen under a microscope. Before a cell divides, the chromosome duplicates. Chromosomes aren’t visible, not even by using a microscope. Can affect the health of a person depending on the number of chromosomes, too many or two few can cause a problem in the human body. Here is some additional information about the chromosomes.
3
The chromosomes are long, slender rods of DNA. They are made of DNA and hold all the genetic material.
4
Location of Chromosomes o Chromosomes are located in the nucleus of a eukaryote cell. o Chromosomes are attached to the plasmid membrane.
5
o Chromosomes hold all the genetic information. o Everything included in the cell is needed in order to survive. o DNA exceeds the size of the cell. o Chromosomes play a huge roll is genetic diversity.
