1 Teacher Guide This lesson is designed to teach kids to ask a critical thinking question that you can’t just put into a search box to solve. To do that, we encourage them with smaller questions that search can help them answer. Make sure that you read the notes for each slide: they not only give you teaching tips but also provide answers and hints so you can help the kids if they are having trouble. Remember, you can always send feedback to the Bing in the Classroom team at BingInTheClassroom@Microsoft.com. You can learn more about the program at bing.com/classroom and follow the daily lessons on our Partners In Learning site. Consider using Skype in the Classroom to arrange for your class to chat with another class in today’s location. 3 Opinions on the appeal of the common myna bird vary depending on where you live. Across southeast and central Asia, the myna lives in its natural habitat and is part of Sanskrit folklore. But in Australia and South Africa, where the bird was both intentionally and accidentally introduced in the wild, the myna is an invasive species and a genuine threat to native birds. It can out-compete other birds for food, and thrives in urban and suburban habitats just as well as it does in open, wooded ranges. Mynas will even displace native birds by taking over their nests. That’s pretty successful for a critter that tops out at nine inches, beak to tail. Main Critical Thinking Question
