5 General Salary Changes The following changes are effective July 1, 2015. 3.25% for everything on Appendix A (Teacher Salary Schedule) including Master’s/Doctorate Stipends and National Board Stipends 3.25% for Appendix B (Permit Teacher Salary Schedule) 3.25% for Appendix C (Adult School Hourly Salary Schedule) All pay indexed to Appendix A is also increased 3.25%. examples include: curriculum pay, Extended Day Activities, Department Chairpersons

6 More Money! Retired Teacher Sub Pay increases to $201.34/day effective 7/1/2016 One additional Professional Development Day for Common Core Related PD tracked and paid at per diem rate. Effective 7/1/2016

7 Longevity Increment For Unit Members who have provided 20+ full years of service to FSUSD 1% annually as an ongoing benefit Begins 7/1/2016 Paid in two installments (November and May) Defined benefit through the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)

8 Instruction Specialists TK – 8 Elementary Model Current permanent status teachers with 3+ years in the District Right of return for 1 st year. NON-EVALUATIVE SUPPORT (IS teachers MAY NOT report any observations from unit members’ classrooms that might possibly be used in evaluation process! Participation by teachers is VOLUNTARY. Supervised by Central Office Admin

9 Instruction Specialists cont. Assignments flown as grade-bands No more than one team at any one site If possible, team will be allowed by stay at the site of one of the partners. Term Limit of 5 years 6 additional days of training annually at the per diem rate

11 Department Chairperson Middle Schools and High Schools 3-year term limit; may serve two consecutive terms max; may reapply after 3-year term hiatus Two coaching periods per department chairperson at each of 3 comprehensive High Schools One coaching period per department chairperson at each of the 4 middle schools Maximum of 36 students per class/120 student contacts per day ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies departments only 6 additional days of training annually at the per diem rate

13 27.7 Job Sharing (Dual Assignment Share) Both teachers are full-time employees but share a single classroom assignment or teaching line. If the dual assignment share partner is part of the hiring process the partner shall be assigned. Up to 10 additional workdays at per diem rate may be assigned by evaluating supervisor Full salary Full Fringe Benefits packages Full sick leave benefits Full credit toward STRS benefits

14 Job Sharing continued (Dual Assignment Share) Partners shall plan jointly for both classroom and non- classroom responsibilities. Each partner must teach at least ½ of the school days in any given school month. Partners may work simultaneously in the classroom for up to the first 20 school days at the start of a given semester or trimester as relevant. If given such direction, partners shall not be responsible for non-classroom responsibilities during that time.

15 Job Sharing continued (Dual Assignment Share) Both partners must attend school meetings and parent conferences while in the classroom. However, if non-classroom responsibilities make them miss a meeting, he/she shall be excused provided the partner shall attend the meetings he/she misses. Each partner is responsible for half of the adjunct and yard duty as a single full-time teacher. Each partner shall NOT be compelled to do adjunct or yard duty on days/times when they are off campus to attend to their non- classroom related duties. Each partner shall develop procedures for clear lines of communication with all parents.

16 And for all you 50/50 job sharers… Article 27.3 adds the following language: Members of the unit, subject to the annual approval of the Assistant Superintendent/HR or his/her designee within the Human Resources Department, may job share. “Application for job sharing” is replaced with “A Certificated leave request form requesting job sharing.” “Should a site administrator deny such a leave, an appeal to the Assistant Superintendent/Human Resources may occur.” In 27.3.b. the word “tenure” is replaced with “permanent status.”

18 F-SUTA Executive Board recommends an “AYE” vote for this Tentative Agreement.
