What is a habitat? Tundra Ocean Quiz Desert Resources

2 What is a habitat? A habitat is something that can provide shelter for a person or animal (think of a house where a person or animal lives). There are several habitats that an animal can live in: such as ocean, desert or tundra.

3 Ocean The ocean is a large body of salt water.
Some words to describe it are: wet and water. Animals that live in the ocean need to breathe in the water. A dolphin, whale and fish all live in the ocean.

4 Desert The desert is very hot and dry (unlike the ocean).
Animals that call the desert home include a lizard, snake, and scorpion. The plants that you can find in the desert are cactus because they need very little water.

5 Tundra Tundra is cold, icy and can be frozen.
Animals found living in the tundra can be bear and elk.

6 Quiz What habitat does the scorpion mostly live in?

7 Good Job The scorpion along with the snake live in the hot desert.

8 Good Job The tundra is cold and icy and elk and polar bears like it there.
