1. Science Week 2016

2. St Peter’s Science Fair  Tuesday 15 th March 2016  You will need to create a scientific project.  You must include diagrams/pictures/written explanations that show the scientific principle behind the project.  The winners will go through to the Island Science Fair – competing against scientists from other schools!  Prizes will be awarded for the winning projects.

3. Halfway Houses Science Fair  18 th March 2016  Three winners from each school will go through.  Prizes will be awarded for the winning projects.  Lets look at some examples…

4. You could re-create blood cells and explain their functions.

5. Dancing raisins Use ordinary clear soda to make raisins dance. Learn what's in soda that gives it fizz, and what causes things that are heavier than water to float.

6. Layered liquids Use common liquids you can find around your house to make a density column and a rainbow in a glass.

7. String telephone Make a string telephone and learn about sound waves!!

8. Blobs in a bottle Make your very own lava lamp

9. Make your own erupting volcano This cool project will enable you to watch your very own Volcano erupt.

10. Why don’t you make your own slime?

11. You could make an electromagnet! All you will need - A large iron nail (about 3 inches) About 3 feet of THIN COATED copper wire A fresh D size battery Some paper clips or other small magnetic objects

12. Make A Static Powered Dancing Ghost You could investigate how static electricity is produced!
