2 Annual funding volume approx. 110 M€ Funding of strategic research: –spans from basic research to innovation –interdisciplinary research –public-private partnerships –International cooperation Participation in 9 JPI’s: – JPI Antimicrobial Resistance – JPI Climate – JPI FACCE – JPI Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life – JPI More Years, Better Lives – JPI Oceans – JPI Urban Europe – JPI Water – JPND ERA-nets bilateral calls (India, Brazil, China, South Korea)

3 JPI Urban Europe 14 participating countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Great Britain and Turkey 2 observers: Spain, Portugal Main aims: –Transform urban areas to centres of innovation and technology –Realise eco-friendly and intelligent intra- and interurban transport and logistic systems –Ensure social cohesion and integration –Reduce the ecological footprint and enhance climate neutrality
