8 FPHS Assessment Objectives 1. Assess the services local health departments in Kansas currently provide in relation to the Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS) 2. Explore local health department leader’s perceptions of these services, the gaps they identify in services, and challenges they see in implementing them

10 FPHS Assessment Literature Review Timeline: January-March Objective: To create a comprehensive list of public health services and functions which will then be mapped for the FPHS model

11 FPHS Assessment Focus Group/Interviews Timeline: April-July Focus Groups/Interviews: May Objective: To obtain input regarding-  FPHS map created through the literature review  Perceptions regarding the FPHS model  Potential challenges to incorporating the model

12 FPHS Assessment Survey Timeline: June-September Survey: July Objective:  Identify what services are offered at local health departments  Create an inventory of public health services

13 FPHS Assessment Outcomes Outcome: Inventory of public health services offered at LHDs and focus group report with challenges and ideas for improvement
