2 The Three Inquiry Themes 1.Reviewing the current support and challenge to schools/colleges/ training providers and the opportunities for collaboration and sharing effective practice 2.Engaging employers and the wider community in defining the capability gaps of students and involving employers and schools/colleges/training providers together to develop a learning offer 3.Building Suffolk as a learning county with high expectations and the potential to realise economic opportunities

3 Suffolk Solutions Groups Emerging organically from discussions Relating to one or more Inquiry theme Taking a design approach Similar methods, but different starting points Each group will aim to launch, prototype or recommend a solution Named SCC officer will help to lead process RSA can facilitate process, offer research support and commission experts where needed First groups will report on progress on 10 th January 2013

4 The first nine solutions groups Theme One: support, challenge and collaboration with schools A new learning partnership between schools and SCC The Modern Baccalaureate (secondary focus) Curriculum Design and Innovation (cross-phase) Improving teacher quality through better recruitment retention and development Theme Two: educator-employer engagement An entitlement framework for 5-16 work-related learning A single mechanism/brokerage to support educator-employer engagement Mobilising all schools to provide work-related learning Theme Three: cultural change in Suffolk Strengthening and expanding the role of Governing Bodies Developing a coherent, targeted approach to pupil mentoring Possibility of more groups
