3 South Cambridgeshire District Council Visiting Support Service District-wide April 2014 for Over 65’s 517 sheltered residents supported – July 2012 to March 2014 31 new referrals since 1 April 2014 Short-term, confidential service providing emotional, financial and practical support Free of charge – must be eligible (needs & risk assessment) Referral process Significant outcomes – financial; debt management; budgeting; combatting social isolation; setting up new tenancies/tenancy sustainment; health and social care

5 South Cambridgeshire District Council Lifeline Filling a gap in the market Additional services to current popular community lifeline service – 988 users Pilot project - Sawston and surrounding villages Personal; individual; flexible; long-term; well-being and tailored service Chargeable service offering 3 options for residents (Monday to Friday) Review and monitor with potential to expand

7 South Cambridgeshire District Council Links to voluntary sector Community transport Village wardens – 25 villages – Parish Councils; local groups supported by Care Network and Age UK Care Network – Community Navigators; village warden schemes; ‘help at home’ Age UK – befriending; village wardens; advocacy Camsight – befriending’ counselling; aids for sight; own support workers Besom Project – garden clearance; painting rooms; finding furniture Emmaus; SOFA; Food Bank; Access to village charities and grants from County run ‘Cambridgeshire local assistance grant’ to utility companies and warmer homes discount – the list is endless!
