I’m truly remorseful for what happened. He’s gone and I can’t bring him back.” Jacob Davis used a magnum bolt-action rifle to mow down his girlfriend’s ex-lover at his High School. Today, Davis is serving a 52 year term at a correctional facility.

4 October 2, 1997 October 2, 1997 : Luke Woodham, 16, exits the city's courtroom after entering not guilty pleas to charges he murdered his mother and two high school classmates the day before in Pearl, Miss. Woodham was sentenced to life in prison. School Shootings: A Deadly Pattern

5 December 1, 1997: December 1, 1997: A Heath High School student at the scene of a shooting that left three students dead and five wounded. A 14-year- old freshman, Michael Carneal, was arrested and charged with shooting eight fellow students who were finishing an informal prayer meeting.

6 March 28, 1998: March 28, 1998: Mourners at a funeral service for 11-year-old Britthney Varner, one of four students and a teacher killed four days earlier by Drew Golden and Mitchell Johnson in Jonesboro, Ark.

7 April 24, 1998: A student from James W. Parker school in Edinboro, Pa., after science teacher John Gillette was shot and killed by another student.

8 May 21, 1998: In Springfield, Ore., Thurston High sophomore Ryan Atteberry is helped to a waiting ambulance hours after police say Kip Kinkel opened fire in the school cafeteria, killing two and wounding 20 more. Kinkel is also accused of killing his parents the previous day.

9 Sept. 23, 1999 : LITTLETON, Colo. Columbine High School. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were never part of the Trench Coat Mafia. They didn't target jocks, minorities or Christians. They had a hit list, but nobody on it was hit. They expected their bombs and explosives would wipe out most of the school.

10 March 21, 2005: Jeff Weise lived with his grandmother and was in a home-tutoring program. He was 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, and posted messages on Nazi websites. His father killed himself in 1997; his mother has brain damage from an accident. After killing his grandfather, Weise donned the man's police-issue belt and bulletproof vest and drove his squad car to school, where he began a killing spree that ended with nine more people dead, the FBI said.
