Technology Changes Everything Jodi Bumgarner EDU620 Prof. Dennis Lawrence April 20, 2015

Evolution Of Technology Discuss three ways the evolution of technology has impacted teaching and learning? The technology of today has changed the way lessons and assignments are presented in more interesting for the students. Technology also allows the students to learn at their own pace and skill level. However, it also allows both students and teachers to demonstrate their own level of creativity with the help of today’s technology when you compare a teacher from the past and present and you can understand how much we as a society have changed. Teachers of the past had to use and rely on things like textbooks, blackboards, workbooks and worksheets to help students learn in the classroom, since those were the only tools that were available to the teachers and students it meant all students had to learn at the same level. Creativity and innovation were things that had very little to do with how students learned or obtained information that was provided to the students. However, in today’s society there is more engagement and participation taking place in today’s classroom because of all the technology. “Technology allows the students to learn at their own pace and collaborate with other students more frequently” (Dhingra, 2012). The technology of today can make learning better by increasing knowledge of each of the lessons and how the student obtains information for the lessons.

Evolution Of Technology Continued In today’s society student’s have technology tools like computers, I pads, and cell phones even tablets. These things help keep the students engaged in learning. “While in the past century students and teachers and the world has become more advanced” (Edyburn, 2013,ch.1).

Technology Examples Describe three Examples of how digital and assertive technologies can be used to support diverse learners? In the past classrooms used things like overhead projectors and film projectors that were very good in their time. However, students of today have more advanced technological stimulants that can help students obtain knowledge of lessons. “Students of today can use technological tools that they can have the ability to self-supervision of their learning and the ability to revolutionize the world”( Mitra, 2010). Technology Examples: Teacher’s of today use technology tools to make learning opportunities for diverse learners. Students with the disabilities like dyslexic have the use of I pads to look at pictures of key elements of lessons. Students who have ADHD and other disabilities can use computers to help them with their lessons. Which can help those with disabilities to obtain a education.

Technology Influence Technology has changed the way students and teachers interact with lesson planning and their instructions. The three examples of how technology influences students independence are: There are able to work at their own pace and level of technological knowledge while using tablets, computers and I pads. Students can have more access to research materials with the use of today’s technology without the help of the teacher. Students can also access technology to measure how much knowledge they have learned in class about their lessons and its instructions on their topics and skills.

Technology Influence: The Conclusion In conclusion, I think that the students and teachers of the 21 st century are using technology to increase both their knowledge and skills of each lesson. They can also use technology to communicate with other students from different countries or in the same city. “The use of technological can also help them to speak and see foreign students without leaving the classroom or in their home”( Microsoft Vision Of The Classroom Of The Future,2011). The use of technological tools allows the students to have enhanced learning and a lot more knowledge of the classroom lessons and keep the students interested in learning new things.
