3 Miguel de Cervantes wrote the first modern novel in the early 1600s The book is called Don Quixote de la Mancha It is a humorous tale of an aging man who is stuck in the myths of the past Meet Cervantes - the great novelist of the 1600s

4 When someone carries on foolishly - not recognizing the realities of life - they are acting like Don Quixote someone who is foolishly tilting at windmills

5 It is a story of a new world rejecting the legends of hte old for a reality based on science
