4 What’s more important?  As a group, talk about which of the following are important and not important when choosing a career?  Salary (how much money you make)  Hours (how many hours you work)  Safety (how safe or dangerous the work is)  Interest (how much you like your job)

5 Crazy awesome, crazy bad  For each criterion, talk with your group about what jobs would be crazy awesome, or crazy bad in the following:  Salary (what jobs have crazy awesome salary, crazy bad salary?)  Education (what jobs require a crazy high amount of education?)  Job openings (what jobs have a crazy big number of openings?)  Workplace (what jobs have a crazy awesome workplace? a crazy bad workplace?)

8 Who is…  Talk about a friend who has an offbeat sense of fashion.  What creative talents do you have in your group?  Who is the most and least creative member of your group?

9 Adjectives 형용사 – How to use them  An adjective ( 형용사 ) is a word that describes a noun ( 명사 ).  In English, there are 2 patterns for adjectives.  1.) SUB + VERB + ADJECTIVE. 주어 + 동사 + 형용사  2.) [ARTICLE] + ADJECTIVE + NOUN 관사 + 형용사 + 명사

10 SUB + VERB + ADJECTIVE  1. 주어 + 동사 + 형용사  Iamtired.  You arecrazy.  He is funny.  She iscreative.  Itiscold.  Weare ready.  Theyare weird. To be (am, are, is, was, were) is the most common verb used with adjectives. Other verbs to use with adjectives include look, sound, taste, seem, feel, and get.

11 SUB + VERB + ADJECTIVE  1. 주어 + 동사 + 형용사  Shelookstired. 그녀는 피곤해 보여요  You soundcrazy. 니가 한 말은 미친 갓 같아요  Ittastesgood. 그 것은 맛 있어요  Wefeeluncomfortable. 우리는 불편한 느낌이 들어요  Theyseem weird. 그들은 이상한 것 같아요  He gets tired. 그는 피곤해져요

12 Practice  Describe your favorite food. How does it taste and smell? Adjectives: good, sweet, salty, sour, meaty, rich, etc.  Tell group members about a concert you attended. What kind of concert was it? How did it sound and feel? Adjectives: loud, soft, powerful, beautiful, magical, emotional, light, romantic, amazing, peaceful, etc.  How would you get if somebody kept calling your phone? Adjectives: angry, crazy, mad, frustrated, furious, etc.

13 (ARTICLE) + ADJECTIVE + NOUN  ( 관사 ) + 형용사 + 명사  a bad person 나쁜 사람  a crazy day 미친 날  an interesting word 흥미로운 단어  an upset stomach 속상한 배 ( 배탈 )  funny jokes 웃기는 농담들  boring examples 재미 없는 보기들

14 Practice  Leader, ask group members the following questions:  What kind of day are you having?  What color of blanket(s) do you sleep with?  What kind of music do you listen to? (not genre, describe it)  What kind of movies/TV shows do you like to watch? (not genre)  What kind of wallet/purse do you carry? Describe it.
