2 South West Public Health Observatory South West Regional Public Health Group Community Health Profiles - origins Wanless report identified need for reliable and regular information to assess health interventions ‘Choosing Health’ White Paper recognised the need for clear, understandable and timely information about local needs and trends Association of Public Health Observatories commissioned by DH to produce Health Profiles. Health profiles produced by Public Health Observatories and where possible, discussed with Directors of Public Health

This differs from the resident based measure used by NCHOD.

17 South West Public Health Observatory South West Regional Public Health Group Dissemination Website ‘went live’ on 12 th June Health profiles to be updated on an annual basis ‘Popular’ format Community Health Profiles will form part of the ‘small change: Big Difference’ social marketing campaign in the Autumn Liked by No10 and DoH so profiles likely to continue!
