2 Key Messages IEEE e-mail alias is no longer an just an alias – Fully functional Gmail account – Also includes calendar, contacts, & drive Key usage points – Change email forwarding – Using Calendar for setting up meetings NOT technical presentations that’s vTools! Privacy Points

3 What is GoogleApps@IEEE IEEE has contracted with Google to provide corporate email services to members. With GoogleApps@IEEE, members gain a robust capability for messaging with access to e-mail, calendar, and contact services from any Internet-connected computer. – Members will also have access to Google Drive, Google+, and Picasa. GoogleApps@IEEE is available to members at no additional cost. Users will have access to: – a unique IEEE e-mail address (e.g., John.A.Doe@ieee.org); – mail forwarding or e-mail inbox (Gmail); – 30 gigabytes of shared storage (Gmail and Google Drive); – 99.9 percent up time guaranteed by Google; – advertisement-free Gmail; – files storage for easy sharing and access from anywhere via Google Drive

4 How do I sign up? If you already had an IEEE email alias you don’t have to – Skip to next slide! Go to: https://www.ieee.org/profile/public/login/publiclogin.html Log in using your IEEE account and sign up Your GoogleApps@IEEE account login will be your IEEE account login.

5 What if I already had an email alias? Your alias email is now a Gmail account under the IEEE contract. – Sign in at: http://email.ieee.org orhttp://email.ieee.org – At the Google home page type your IEEE email address in as the username and click sign in. You will be redirected to the IEEE login page. Once you log in the interface is the same as any Gmail account Forwarding to your personal email address is turned on by default. – You can leave it that way and never use the gmail interface or: – Sign into your IEEE email account. – Click the setting button at the top right corner and click settings from the drop down menu

6 Change Forwarding Settings Button Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP Change the forwarding settings You can also set up the account for PoP or IMAP access here - Allows use of external mail clients like Outlook

7 Spam Filtering This email uses Gmail’s spam filtering If Gmail thinks a mail is spam it puts it here

8 Calendar Key points You can make your Free / Busy information available to other IEEE members. You can use that information to see if another member is available for a meeting and schedule the meeting. – People need to use the calendar to keep their schedules! Meetings invites can be sent to other email addresses as well.

9 GoogleApps@IEEE Privacy & Security GoogleApps@IEEE services have varying degrees of privacy. Use of GoogleApps@IEEE accounts for Google Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Drive are governed by contract between IEEE and Google. Additional Google Apps products are governed by the terms set forth in the consumer Google Privacy Policy.
