Life Science 12-13-2012 In Class –Write Up How to write –Experiment »Perform »Data Table –Analysis –Conclusion –Discussion –Review for Chapter 3 Test is now finished Will go over the answers on Friday Then we will complete Discussion Homework –Make sure Chapter 3 Test is finished If it is not complete you will go to the Library to finish

Title (5 points) Introduction Purpose Hypothesis Pre-Lab (25 points) Materials Safety Procedure Experiment Perform Lab (10 points) Data Analysis Conclusion Post-Lab (15 points) Discussion

Convex Lab Write Up Purpose this is a re-write of Hypothesis your pre-lab; Material making all of the Safety necessary corrections Procedure

Experiment Perform –Draw set up Data –Create a table for your data

Analysis Describe the pattern between image distance and image size. Describe the similarities between the real images formed by a convex lens.

Conclusion The data did or did not support my hypothesis: “.” The data did or did not support my purpose: “.”

Discussion The independent variable is ____________ and dependent variable is _______________. Light can interact with matter in many different ways. It can be reflected, refracted, transmitted and absorbed. Describe how light from the candle may have interact with matter in room in these 4 ways

Discussion The lens of your eye is a convex lens. It produces a real image at the back of your eye when you look at an object. –Discuss whether the real image produced at the back of your eye inverted or upright. –Discuss whether the real image projected on the back of your eye is larger or smaller than the actual object.

Discussion Convex lenses are used in film projectors. –Explain why movie stars are “larger than life” on the screen. Make sure to use the terms Image distance Object distance
