15
15 Multi-sourcing the new normal “Which Type of Vendor Does Your Organization Prefer to Purchase BI Software From?” ”Multiple vendors that each provide best-of-breed technology” ”No preference” “The same vendor from which we purchase enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM or SCM” “The same vendor from which we purchase database, data warehouse, data integration, application server or other infrastructure” “A single vendor that focuses only on BI software” Vendor that provides both infrastructure and application software (4%)

…But Innovation Will Keep Coming From the Fringes Despite ongoing consolidation and acquisitions by megavendors, new categories of analytic applications will continue to emerge, resulting in more, not less, market fragmentation.
19
IT The Business Personal Systems of Innovation: Center of Gravity Shifts Toward the Individual Much of the innovation is coming from the consumer space. Vendor need to become better at qualifying the customer New forces will expand the use of analytics to a whole new set of users. Levels of integration among information, analytical models and processes Analytical Agility Low Analytical Consistency High Systems of record Systems of differentiation Systems of innovation Increasing scale and scope
20
2014 and Beyond: Nexus of Forces Impacting Analytics Will Become Mainstream INFORMATION MOBILE SOCIAL CLOUD Cloud: By 2013, every major BI platform vendor will present a cloud offering, accounting for less than 3% of total BI revenue. Mobile: in MQ survey 2012, 54% are actively using, piloting or planning to deploy mobile BI in the next 12 months Social: By 2013, 15% of BI deployments will combine BI, collaboration and social software into decision-making environments.
