2 Introduction To achieve greatness, we must plan!
As a newly graduated registered nurse, my entire career lays ahead of me. In order to plan for My dream job, I have conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis and planned five SMART goals to help me move from where I am now, to where I plan to be in the future. I have also included some literature to support my plan to achieve my goals.

3 Dream job: Neonatal Nurse
A neonatal nurse is a registered nurse/ midwife who though extra study and practice becomes an expert in the care of sick or preterm neonates (Pieron, 2012). Areas to work: There are many areas that a Neonatal nurse can work including but not limited to the Special care nursery, neonatal intensive care unit, postnatal ward or in the community (Australian College of Neonatal Nurses, 2015). In Western Australia, the only neonatal intensive care unit is located at King Edward Memorial Hospital. Qualifications Needed: Hospital Based Registered Nurse/Midwife Neonatal Level 2 (CSF 4/5) Certificate course Graduate certificate in clinical nursing (neonatal intensive care) (Curtin University, 2015). The average salary for a neonatal intensive care nurse is $80,000 annually (Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, 2013).

5 SMART Goals In order to achieve my dream job I have devised the following SMART goals that have been aligned to the ANMC Domains. Secure a registered nurse graduate position for 2016 Obtain further employment at the Bunbury Regional Hospital for 12 months to consolidate all skills Gain employment at king Edward Memorial Hospital for a duration of 12 months.

8 conclusion In order to achieve my dream job of Neonatal nurse, I will need to fulfil certain gaols. These gaols have been devised following a comprehensive SWOT analysis and reviewing the current literature. By following this plan, I will put myself on the road to success!
