From a quick exploration, the main groups are birds (19538 records), mammals (2156) and arachnids (741). If anyone has more specific questions about particular groups, please get back to me. 40. Helping the World to Communicate Geographically GBIF network The following table provides a breakdown of the georeferenced species occurrence records per country served via the GBIF network. Amongst African countries, you will see that South Africa is way ahead with 2098697 records, followed by Madagascar, Tanzania, Congo, Kenya, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique, each with more than 10,000 records. Depending on which African countries/areas you plan to use for the scenarios, I can do a more detailed check within a country to see what species are best represented. Canada is well represented with a record count of 2082086. I'll post record counts for the Polar bounding box area of interest to the Polar scenario list shortly.
