10,000 voices across Oregon. 36 counties. 3 education sponsors. Rallied in support of 1 thing: Oregon and its children. It all starts here.

How to Record 10,000 Voices? We will be using an electronic survey. Use your phone, or a tablet or laptop that’s connected to the Internet. Don’t have a phone or device? Raise your hand and we’ll get you set up.

A report of findings will be complete in late summer/early fall. An overview will be shared with everyone who provides us with an email address. Results will be shared with the legislature and decision-makers. How the Information Will Be Used:

1.Get your device (phone, tablet or computer) 2.Make sure you’re online Wi-Fi Name: Wi-Fi Password: 3.If you are using a personal device with a strong connection, go to: oregon-rising.org 4.If you are using a device with a weak connection, go to: surveymonkey.com/r/ORgathering 5.Raise your hand if you need help. Ready to Go?

But First, a Reminder About Why We’re Here…

Think back to when you were in school. What did you have, but that kids don’t – or do – have now? Something that you think is missing? People have varying opinions about what should be taught in school. First, let’s identify what you think of when I say “let’s teach kids the basics.” Now, what are some things that might not be basics, but that you think should be part of education? Let’s Get Warmed Up

Let’s Get Started: Please click/tap “next” after question 8, and wait. Do not play the video.

Sharing the Dream: You were asked about your dream for your kids’, grandkids’ or any Oregon kid’s future. Who did you have in mind as you answered the survey? What were some of the dreams you shared? What did you think about the connection in importance of good schools to a good community? Is it a strong one? What about good schools and the state as a whole? Do you see a connection?

Let’s Learn More About the State of Schools…

Please Return to the Survey:

Thoughts? Thoughts that the survey prompted? Were any of the facts in the video new to you, or surprising? Where do you think we might start to make changes for our kids? “If money were no object”, I would...

What About Locally? What part of your vision is specific to our community? What are the special issues you think we face here? Is there anything that gets you really excited when you think of the kids here in our community?
