14 Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities This programme supports collaborative research involving universities, public and private research institutes, think-tanks and civil society organisations –with focus on interdisciplinarity, policy relevance, European and broader international dimension A specific instrument for support to civil society organisations is included among those that can be used by applicants– depending on topics and Calls Calls are open and competitive and are published every year –each time with different subjects

15 Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities Some ongoing research projects are focused on the enlargement process over time, e.g. EU-CONSENT (Wider Europe, deeper integration?) Others are focused on the Western Balkans and include partners from the region: HUMSEC (Human security in Western Balkans) MIRICO (Minority rights in the cycle of conflicts) Various projects include Turkey as a case and many involve Turkish partners, for example: EU4Seas (The EU and sub-regional miltilateralism in four sea level basins) Ramses (Network of research in human sciences in the Mediterranean area) Some projects specifically involve civil society organisations for example: INFOCON (International Civil Society Forum on conflicts) SHUR (Civil society and human rights)
