10 Computing facilities u Three teaching computer labs in Atrium and many other computer labs on campus for general access u Three classroom labs, one open lab, and a Computer Science Research Center exclusively for CS majors u Sun Microsystems server u Solaris UNIX and Windows 7 Platforms u Lab computers are replaced every 3 years u Variety of application software packages u Fully networked (wired and wireless) environment u Students participate in lab administration and maintenance

11 Small Class Size u All classes are capped at 24 u Upper level class average around 15 students u All Computer Science major classes taught by full time faculty

12 Student Research u Many students have been involved in research with faculty members (e.g., CfR and Student Research Funds in College of Science and Health) u Students presented their papers with professors in prestigious national and international conferences (e.g., Sigma Xi Annual Conference at St. Joseph University, Annual Student Math Conference at Moravian College) u Current faculty research interests are in software engineering, databases, computer architecture, compiler, digital signal processing, optimization theory and algorithms, and logic foundation in computer science.

14 Work/Study Opportunities u Internal: many of CS majors work part-time with the Instruction and Research Technology (IRT) or with the department on tutoring and lab assistant program u External: many other Computer Science majors work part-time with local industries.

17 Where Did Our Graduates Go (A Sample in Recent Years)? u Our graduates have been employed by IBM, Telcordia Technologies, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Verizon, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, and many other companies. u Several have chosen to pursue graduate studies: many have gone to NJIT, Stevens Institute of Technology, SUNY at Stony Brook (1 received ‘Turner scholarship’ for Ph.D. in Computer Science), UMDNJ (1 in Biomedical Engineering), University of Delaware (1 Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, 1 Ph.D. in Computer Science), Drexel University (2 with full research assistantships in Computer Science), UC Santa Barbara (1 Ph.D. in Computer Science), William Paterson University (1 in MBA).
