1 Holocaust and Genocide Schindler’s List Final Assessment

2 By using three specific situations in the movie, compare and contrast Oskar Schindler and Amon Goeth. Analyze each comparison by explaining the significance.

3 Discuss the unique plight that women found themselves in during the Holocaust. Among other considerations, think about where they may be exploited, what personal loss would they experience, and what specific fears might they have. Additionally, choose at least three scenes from ’Schindler’s List’ that seem most haunting for a woman.

4 Discuss the difficulties unique to children during the Holocaust. What are some basic needs of human development? How would the Holocaust affect the emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and familial, development of a child? Use at least three specific situations in Schindler’s List.

5 Discuss the use of color in the film. The girl in the red coat is famous, but there were other scenes as well. What were the other scenes including color? Was there anything in common between the color scenes? What was Spielberg's purpose in selecting certain scenes to be in color? What was he trying to accomplish for the viewer?

6 Consider famous musical themes and compositions of films: ‘Rocky’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Grease’, ‘Forest Gump’ and more. What purpose does musical composition and song serve the viewer? What is the producer of the film trying to accomplish by the addition of music? Explain any difference if there was no music, or if the music did not seem fitting for the production or scenes. Critique the music of Schindler’s List as if you are a professional critic. Use your technology to access and read professional music critiques if needed.

12 Explain the process of rebuilding one’s life after WWII as a surviving Jew?
