2. The three wise men spent days talking to the people in the streets of Jerusalem, asking them where they might find the new leader who was to be born and whose star they had been following. The people said that they had been waiting for a long time for the new leader, but they didn’t know when he would be born.

3. ‘But we have seen his star rise,’ the wise men said. ‘Star – what star?’, they asked. Every night for weeks we have been following a star and it has led us here.

4. ‘We have come to trust in this new light,’ said Balthasaar. It has led us through the darkness.

5. ‘Talk to Simeon and Anna,’ one innkeeper said. They have spent their whole lives waiting for the new leader. You will find them in the temple.

6. The wise men went to the temple and talked with Simeon and Anna. ‘Have you seen the new leader yet’, they asked. ‘Not yet....’ said Simeon. ‘But it will not be long now,’ said Anna.

7. Soon the whole town was talking about the three men who were looking for the new leader. The news reached King Herod’s palace. He sent for the kings immediately.
