6. UNITED NATIONS DAY
United Nations were founded on 24th September 1945 for the peace of world.
Member countries publish informations about United Nations in radios, television and in newspapers.
United Nations Day is important for our country like other countries.

7. REBUBLIC DAY
Our leader Atatürk founded the Turkish Rebublic on 29th October 1923.
So, 29th October is accepted as the Republic Bairam.
Rebublic Bairam is celebrated with enthusiastic ceremonies in schools and in public squares in our country.

8. RED CRESCENT WEEK
The days beetween 29th October and 4th November is accepted as Red Crescent Week. Red Crescent’s importance and profits are explained in televisions, radios and in schools in this week
Red Crescent helps peoples in wars, in eath qakes. It gives food, tent, fuel, money to poor people on bad days.

9. LEUKEMIA CHILDREN WEEK
The days between 2nd-9th November is accepted as Leukemia Children week in our country.
In this week, Lösev gives information about leukemia. It helps people abaut this illness.

10. ATATÜRK MEMORIAL DAY Our leader died on 10th November 1938.
So, this day is accepted as Atatürk memorial day in our country.
In this day, Atatürk’s model life and his great principles are explained to Turkish people.

11. CATASTROPHE WEEK
In our country, 12th November is accepted as Catastrophe day.
In schools, teachers and students prepare activities about Catastrophe Defense day.

12. WORLD PHILOSOPHY DAY
Every year, 20th November is celebrated as World Philosophy day. It is celebrate since 2002 in our country.
In this day, every school prepare some activities abaut philosophy day.

13. WORLD AIDS WEEK
The first day of December and next days following it are memorized as World Aids Week.
In this day, a lot of information is given about Aids in our country.

14. HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY WEEK
Human Rights and Democracy Week is celebrated on 10th December 1948.
It is celebrated with some activities at schools and other places.
Students elect the president of the Students Counsil in that week.

15. INVESTMENT AND TURKISH PRODUCTS WEEK
Every year in our country, we celebrate Turkish pruduct and investment in the week contains 12th December.
In this week, students bring tradional foods to scool and they eat them together with their teachers.

16. NEW YEAR DAY
On 31st December we celebrate the coming New Year in our country.
People generally celebrate this day in their houses. Some people visit their neighbors.

17. ENERGY SAVING WEEK
Between 11th-18th January, we celebrate Energy Saving week. In this week, there a lot of programs abaut enegy saving on televisions and radios.
In our schools, the importance of energy saving is told to students. Students make some pictures, read some poetries, write some compositions about energy saving.

18. CIVILIAN DEFENCE DAY
We celebrate 28th February as Civilian Defence Day in our country.
The importance of civilian defence is explained on that day.
At schools, teachers teach students what to do at wars and eartquakes on that day.

19. THE GREEN CRESCENT WEEK
In our country the dates between 1st-7th March are celebrated as the Green Crescent week.
In this week, the dangerous effects of alcohol and narcotic are explained to people.
Our schools make some activities about Green Crescent in this week.

20. ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK
Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated at the first week of March.
We celebrate this week to introduce businessmen and world of business to people and to encourage our young generation to enterprice.

21. SCIENCE AND TECHONOLOGY WEEK
Science and Techonology week is celebrated between 8th-14th March since 1998.
In this week, different information is given about techonology and science at schools. Students are taken to the science and techonology expositions.

22. National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Memorial Day
Mehmet Akif Ersoy wrote our national anthem in 1920.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy gave national anthem as a gift to our army.
This important day is celebrated with different ceremonies at schools on 12th March in our country.

23. PROTECTING CONSUMER WEEK
Protecting Consumer Week is celebrated between 15th-21st March every year.
In that week, panels, seminars, tv and radio programmes are organized about the consumer rights. Awards are given to the companies and people who respect consumer rights.

24. MARTYR DAY 18 March is accepted as Martyr Day according to our laws.
In Turkish history, we have a big victory in Dardanelles on 18 March 1915.
We celebrate this day with a lot of ceremonies.

25. WORLD OF TURKS AND TURK COMMUNITIES WEEK
We celebrate 21st March as world of Turks and Turk Communities day for being in a good position with Turk States.
On that day, students read poetries, write compositions abaut world of Turks and Turk communities at schools.

26. FOREST WEEK
Protecting of forests and forestation is a big problem for us. So, we celebrate 21st March as World Forest Day.
We celebrate a week in March as a forest week and we select a day as tree planting festival.

27. WORLD THEATRE DAY World Theatre Day is celebrated since 1962.
In our country , every 27th March is celebrated as World Theatre day
The most famous theatre play in our country is Karagöz and other shadow plays.

28. LIBRARY WEEK
Ministry of Education decided to celebrate library week at the last week of March.
Benefits of library is told during this week.
The rules of library are remembered during this week.

29. TOURISM WEEK
Tourism week is a social activity which is celebrated between 15th-22nd April.
Tourism is an important factor that affects our economy.
In this week, people in our country make handicrafts and traditional food competitions.
At schools, students attend the competition’s of painting, poem and photo about culture and tourism.

30. NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND CHILDREN DAY
Our great lader, Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK, opened Turkish Grand National Assembly on 23rd April 1920.
This festival is symbol of our national sovereignty.
Atatürk gave this festival as a present to children.
At schools, especially primary schools, children festival is celebrated with enthuastic ceremonies.

31. WORLD BOOK DAY World Book Day is celebrated on 23rd April.
At Book week, a lot of book exhibitions are made.
Friends give books as present to each other.
At schools, students prepare some activities about book day.

32. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY WEEK
Information Technology Week is celebrated at the first week of May in our country.
During that week, a lot of conferences about the benefits of uniting information and communication is published.
At schools, during that week, students read poetries, write compositions about the week.

33. TRAFFIC AND FIRST AID WEEK
The first week of May is celebrated as traffic and first aid week.
In our country, the rules of traffic are told on television and radios to prevent traffic accidents.
At schools, the information about traffic is given to students in this week.

34. CHARITABLE FOUNDATIONS WEEK
In our country, the second week of May is celebrated as Charitable Foundations week.
We celebrate that week to tell people duties of charitable foundations.

35. DISABLED PEOPLE WEEK
We celebrate the dates between 10th- 16th May as Disabled People week.
Disabilitiy is a problem all over the world. During that week, there are a lot of programmes on tv and radios abaut the problems disabled people have.

36. MUSEUM WEEK The week between 18th-24th May is Museum Week.
In that week, students go to museums and prepare panels about museums and our culture.

37. 19 MAY YOUTH AND SPORTS DAY
In history 19th May is the beginning of national struggle headed with our leader Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK. So, 19th May is celebrated as Atatürk Memorial Day.
This festival is celebrated with enthuastic ceremonies and sport demonstrations.

38. ETHIC DAY
25th May is celebrated as Ethic day in our country like other countries in the world.
Ethic day is celebrated with different activities at schools.

39. PROTECTING ENVIROMENT WEEK
The second week of June is celebrated as protecting enviroment week.
At schools, trees are planted and the environment around school is cleaned.

40. VICTORY DAY
In our history, that day is important for having the victory at the end of the national struggle in 1922.
We celebrate that day with enthusiastic ceremonies on 30th August.

41. FESTIVAL OF RAMADAN
Ramadan Festival is important for muslim world. In Ramadan month muslims fast for 1 month.
After Ramadan month ends, we have Ramazan festival for three days.
People in our country visit their relatives and their neighbours in this festival.

42. THE FEAST OF THE SACRIFICE
The Feast of the SacrificeFestival is a religious bairam in muslim world. People kill animals like sheep and cow for the sake of God and give the meat to poor people.
For four days people visit their relatives and neighbours.
