Until a Crackling brown leaf falls. “Clean blue day” does not have any obvious connection to “crackling brown leaf.” (On the previous slide) “Winter leaves” unexpectedly connects to “explode into birds.” The relationship between the first and last line should not be an obvious one.

10. Assignment: Write two original Haikus For the first one, follow the traditional rules for meter, subject matter, and juxtaposition For the second one, only follow the rules for meter (subject can be anything!)
