John sees “ another beast coming up out of the earth ” (Revelation 13:11). How is this beast from the earth different from the beast from the sea? Answer: He is the third beast, the false prophet or religious leader. He re-affirms what the first beast says, and he is a powerful communicator. As part of the unholy trinity, he attempts to imitate the Holy Spirit.

Why is calling “ fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men ” considered such a “great sign” (Revelation 13:13)? Who else performed a similar sign? Answer: He imitates the two witnesses in Revelation 11:5, bringing credibility by copying (though falsely) the evidenced power of God. Men are blinded from the truth and will believe what they perceive to be real…Elijah

What is “ the mark ” of the beast (Revelation 13:16)? Where is it placed? What does the mark symbolize (Revelation 13:17)? Answer: This is a control mechanism enforced by the beast, for all who does not follow Christ…Revelation 13:17 tells us that the mark will on the right hand or forehead…Satan, the great imitator is copying the protective marks placed on the 144,000 Jewish Evangelists.

Why are the “ one hundred and forty-four thousand, ” with the Lamb (Revelation 14:1)? Why do they have the names of the Father and Son “written on their foreheads?” Answer: Because just as Jesus Christ freely offered Himself as a sacrifice for the world’s sins. These men freely accepted and followed Christ, as evidenced by their commitment to go through the Tribulation spreading Gods word…God protected them from harm until their work for God was complete.

Who is “ Babylon the great? (Revelation 14:8)” How was she able to have such power over the nations? Answer: Symbolizes the seat of men and Satan’s authority, which is making reference to Rome (Revelation 17:15-18)…The power of Babylon the Great was through Satan’s evil power and deception, which easily worked on those who did not follow Christ, and were blinded from the truth.

What lessons for us do the four prophecies of Revelation 14:6- 13 offer? What do you think is the meaning of each of these visions? Answer: Fear God: His holiness (implies authority); Give glory to Him: Our purpose (exaltation for Him); His judgement: Righteousness contrasting our sin (He is the origin, the one who rewards good and evil); worship Him: Praise (His worthiness of our adoration); That made: Creation (His right to anything and everything)…For those who praise God, through Jesus Christ there will be reward in Heaven. Otherwise judgement, and eternal separation from God.

What does the “ harvest of the earth ” refer to (Revelation 14:15)? How did the son of man reap this harvest (Revelation 14:16)? How did the angels also participate in the reaping of the harvest (Revelation 14:17-20)? Read: (Phil 2:7 / Footnotes; John 17:5) Answer: In Mark and Philippians we learn that Jesus was fully God and truly a man. Nor did he surrender any attributes of his deity, but He took on the limitations of his humanity. Which veiled his reincarnate glory…Jesus separated those who rebelled against God, from those who would be redeemed to Him through their faithfulness…The angel was faithful, when other angels fell from Heaven. He served the Lord through difficult times, and will now serve Him in victory as well.

What is “ the temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven ” (Revelation 15:5)? Why is it “opened” at this specific time? Answer: This is the actual Tabernacle in Heaven. This is a testimony that points back to Exodus 25:16-22. The Tabernacle being open before the angles go out indicate that God has not forgotten his covenant with Israel…Also since the veil tore in the Temple all believers have possessed the joy of salvation. All others must now face undeniable truth the coming judgement.

Why does “ one of the four living creatures ” give away the seven bowls of wrath (Revelation 15:7)? Why does John include the phrase that God “lives forever and ever?” Answer: The living creatures serve God continuously. This indicates that God’s servants will be involved in carrying out his judgements, and these judgements will glorify God…God is holy, and does not change. His judgement is not quick tempered, but is a fulfillment of what he promised and represented from the beginning.

Why is the temple “ filled with smoke ” (Revelation 15:8)? Why is no one able to enter the temple until the plagues are finished? Answer: Because God dwells there, He is both light and fire. By way of the heat it is refinement and destruction…During this time of judgement his dwelling place was unapproachable. The aura of his strength and holiness overwhelmed his surroundings.
