3. Objective To develop a multi purpose library system for the internal library for the department of Computer Science; MultiLIB will be first deployed in the department of computer science and used by Students, Professors, And Librarians, mainly the secretary of the department

Problematic The internal library of the department is small in term of space  no place for reading Students Can not read the book inside the library; Can not consult the detail of the books before borrowing; Have no idea of what books they are going to borrow, because they can only consult the books list before borrowing; Can not make a reservation or consult the availability of each book; Can not know what books are the best borrowing, what books suit their level or what are new books available;

6. Problematic Librarian Maintains the books semi-automatic with paper and Excel; Keeps track of borrowing transaction manually; Has a hard time to find out the students who return books late; Has a hard time to figure out whether the books are available or not; Have a hard time to detect a over quota borrower; Updating books list when there is new books available;

7. Expected software MultiLIB, deployed in the department of Computer Science With MultiLIB Students Could consult books information (title, cover, authors, content, description, availability, etc.) online (Intranet only)‏ Make reservation Add comments on a book that they already borrowed Give a score Consult the top borrowing books list, new books list or recommended books for their level Check the amount of fine due to late return books

8. Expected software Librarian Add, modify, delete new book entry (manually)‏ Retrieve the information from the Internet (Amazon)‏ Modify/define policies (borrow, return, loss, purnisment, etc) and some policies may not applied for teachers. Authentification of users via LDAP server Professors Same functionalities as students' but some rules will not be applied on professors (no return date for example)‏
