2 GOOGLE MAKES A CAR! The Google Self-Driving Car, commonly abbreviated as SDC, is a project by Google X that involves developing technology for autonomous cars, mainly electric cars. The software powering Google's cars is called Google Chauffeur. [1] Lettering on the side of each car identifies it as a "self-driving car". 3 HOW IT WORKS Much of the autonomous technology used in Google's self-driving cars is already found on the road today. You may have seen commercials advertising the VW Polo's automatic braking or the Ford Focus' automatic parallel parking, which both build on the increasingly common use of proximity sensors to aid parking. Combine these sensors with the automated-steering technology used for parking, throw in the seemingly old hat technology that is cruise control, and you have the very loose frameworks for a self-driving car. 3

4 HOW ARE THEY TESTED? Google’s self-driving vehicles - of which it has at least ten - are currently being tested on private tracks and, since 2010, public roads. The car always has two humans inside it. Firstly, a qualified driver with an unblemished record is in the driver’s seat, to take control of the car by either turning the wheel or pressing the brake. Secondly, a Google engineer sits in the passenger seat to monitor the behaviour of the software. Four US states have passed laws allowing driverless cars on the road, which Google has taken full advantage of, testing it on motorways and suburban streets alike. 4

5 ARE THEY SAFE? Supporters of self-driving car technologies are quick to point to statistics that highlight how unsafe the roads are at the hands of non-autonomous cars – in 2013, 1,730 people were killed as a result of car accidents in the UK alone and a further 185,540 people were injured, according to the Office for National Statistics. The worldwide figures are just as scary, with road deaths claiming 1.2 million lives last year. Google claims that more than 90% of these fatalities were due to human error. 5

6 FUTURE OF AUTOMOBILES There is lot of craze regarding the future vehicles. We all know that it will have a great impact on designs, attitude of drivers and includes many more things like- 1) Includes many technology beyond our imagination 2) Helps in increasing manufacturing sector 3) Introduction of new trend 6

7 EFFECTS OF FUTURE TECHNOLOGY  Driver and passenger safety have increased dramatically in recent years through better vehicle design  As highway infrastructure is replaced and the number of robot cars increase proportionally, maximum speed limits will disappear on a state level. Electronic communication between the automobile and the environment in which it operates have undergone the most dramatic changes. 7

8 FEASIBILITY  This is a way to indicate various components and principles of automobiles and enlighten the coming future in this field.  This is also an attempt to make an awareness about the future and to illustrate the reason for such an awaitness of this revolution in this field to arrive. 8

10 10 HYDROGEN FUEL CELL CARS We are in an era where meddling with technology has been a basic part of life. The major concerns of this century is about Conserving the Nature. Energy Generation. These two major problems is solved by this simple concept of Hydrogen Fuel Cell.

11 11  The Hydrogen Fuel Cell is an electrochemical device that combines hydrogen with oxygen to produce electricity, heat and water.  The electricity produced in this process is used to run the vehicle.  The main advantage of this fuel is, it is renewable and produces no harmful emissions.  This has an efficiency which is almost 100 times that of the normal fuels that we use today.  The availability of this fuel is also not grid-dependent, It is available in almost every part of the world. PRINCIPLE AND ADVANTAGES

12 12  Self-driving cars are going to revolutionise the trucking and transport industry as well as the non-commercial automobile industry with its newest and most advanced safety and convenience features.  Future of automobiles is going to create a globally high-tech world and is about to bring many new trends which will be a benefit to all.  A pollution free world and countries independent of each other for fuel are not our dreams anymore because we have our champion HYDROGEN!
