Focus 11.5/11.6 Get your post card out and finish it.

Never Shall I forget… On Page 34, Elie Wiesel writes one of the most powerful passages in the whole book. Never shall I forget… You will mimic the structure of his Never Shall I Forget poem and create your own about an important event in your life that you will never forget.

Here is a helpful hint: When describing something, use your senses! 5 senses – Sight – Hearing – Touch – Taste – Smell

Let’s practice this! My first Major league baseball game. -What did I see? Cheering fans, red blue and white (Braves), green fluffy grass, bright lights. -What did I hear? Screaming fans, crack of the bat, smack of the ball landing in the catcher’s glove, announcer giving the play by play -What did I smell? Hotdogs, popcorn, sweaty people, the dirt on the field -What did I taste? Coca-cola, hotdog -What did I touch? Foam finger, hard plastic seat

Choose an important event in your life. Copy and answer these questions on the top HALF of page 47. What did I see? What did I hear? What did I smell? What did I taste? What did I touch?
